# Governance

Governance is where an organization decides what the Cephable assistant is allowed to do —
which apps and websites it may automate, and which skills and connectors members can turn on
for themselves.

It lives in the [Cephable Portal](https://portal.cephable.com), not in the desktop or mobile
apps: sign in to the Portal, choose your organization, then open **Governance**.

Worth settling before the assistant is in real use across your team. Retrofitting a
connector policy after members have added their own is considerably harder than setting it
first.
