The short answers. Each one links to the fuller guide if you need it.

:::faq title="General"
:::question title="Does Cephable have any software requirements for my computer?"
To get the best experience, use the latest supported versions of Windows or macOS. Cephable
is regularly tested against current operating systems for performance and compatibility.

Check where your OS stands: [macOS](https://endoflife.date/macos) ·
[Windows](https://endoflife.date/windows).

Some features are resource intensive — text generation in particular — and perform notably
better on modern hardware. [Automate](/docs/using-cephable/automate) has its own hardware
requirement.
:::

:::question title="The command feed says my command ran, but the app did not do what I expected."
This is nearly always **focus**. Cephable sends input to whatever app is currently active,
exactly like a keyboard or mouse. If the app you meant to control is not focused — or you
are on a screen inside it where that action is not available — the command runs and lands
nowhere.

Check that the right app is active and that the action is genuinely available. Saying "new
email" in Outlook only works if you are signed in and on a screen where the New Email button
exists.

Then check for **conflict banners** in Cephable, which flag a command that is being blocked.
:::

:::question title="I changed a setting, but it did not save."
Look for a conflict banner in Cephable first — that is the usual cause.

If there is none, quit Cephable, then sign out and back in to refresh. If the setting still
does not stick, report it through the
[support form](https://forms.office.com/r/7L4mySZBbL) so it gets tracked.
:::

:::question title="The AI Control Generator did not create what I asked for."
Run it again — results vary, and a second attempt often lands closer.

You can also edit anything it produced. Generated App Controls are ordinary App Controls,
so adjust the phrases and actions until they fit. See
[App Controls](/docs/using-cephable/app-controls).
:::

:::question title="My Cephable Panel moved. How do I put it back?"
Open **General App Settings** and use the position drop-down under **Cephable Panel**. The
panel can dock top, right, bottom, or left. See
[The Workspace and the Panel](/docs/using-cephable/panel).
:::
:::

:::faq title="Signing in"
:::question title="What does signing in to these docs do?"
It unlocks the documentation your plan includes. Sections that need a higher plan show a
lock and a short summary of what they cover.

Choose **Sign in** at the top right and use your Cephable account — the same sign-in page the
apps use, including single sign-on for work accounts. You come back to the page you were
reading.

The docs site reads only your name, your email, and which plan your account carries. It
does not read your App Controls, commands, or devices, and it does not record which pages
you read. Signing out of the docs does not sign you out of the apps.

Trouble signing in? [Sign-in problems](/docs/troubleshooting/signing-in) covers expired
magic links, work email addresses that are not recognized, and docs that still show locked
sections after you sign in.

:::faq title="Voice and dictation"
:::question title="I can see my speech being processed, but Cephable is not typing it."
You are in command mode, where Cephable matches what you say against your controls rather
than typing it.

- Press the **dictation** icon in the Panel, or say **"dictate"** to switch modes.
- For something short, stay in listening mode and say **"type"** followed by your text.

[Create](/docs/using-cephable/create) covers both.
:::

:::question title="How do I make voice controls and dictation more accurate?"
Four things, in the order they matter:

- **Microphone position.** Closer is better. This makes more difference than anything else.
- **Use a headset.** A headset microphone measurably improves accuracy.
- **Windows 11 Voice Focus.** Windows 11 has a Voice Focus microphone setting that reduces
  background noise. Turn it on in your OS microphone settings.
- **Phrase length.** One-syllable commands are unreliable for everyone. "Go back" matches
  where "go" does not.

More in [Voice commands](/docs/using-cephable/voice-commands).

:::

:::faq title="Camera controls"
:::question title="How do I get camera controls to load?"
A few causes, most to least common:

- **First load is slow.** Starting the camera the first time downloads machine learning
  models. Later starts are fast because the models are kept offline.
- **Permission.** Check Cephable has camera access in your computer's settings.
- **Webcam cover.** Many laptops have a sliding cover. More common than you would think.
- **Another app has the camera.** Close video-call apps and anything else using it.

Then turn the camera off and on again with the camera icon at the top of the Cephable Panel.
[Camera and tracking problems](/docs/troubleshooting/camera-tracking) has the full steps.
:::

:::question title="Can I change how much I have to move my head or face?"
Yes — every movement and expression has its own sensitivity, so you can require a larger or
smaller motion for each.

Set your **baseline** first, though. Sensitivity is measured relative to your resting
position, so a stale baseline makes every threshold feel wrong.

[Camera controls](/docs/using-cephable/additional-features/camera-controls) walks through
both.

:::

:::faq title="Gaming"
:::question title="How do I link Cephable with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7?"
Either way works:

- **On the web:** go to [callofduty.com/cephable](https://www.callofduty.com/cephable) and
  sign in to your Activision account.
- **In the game:** open Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and go to
  **Settings → Account & Network → Cephable Account**. Follow the prompts, or scan the QR
  code.
:::

:::question title="Cephable is not controlling my game. What can I try?"
For games other than Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, there are two common causes:

- **The game blocks input from other apps.** Some games ignore outside input in exclusive
  fullscreen mode, and some anti-cheat systems block it too. In the game's graphics
  settings, switch the display mode from **Exclusive Fullscreen** to **Borderless Windowed**.
- **The game runs as administrator (Windows).** Windows stops a normal app from sending
  input to one running as administrator. Quit Cephable, then right-click Cephable in the
  Start menu and choose **Run as administrator** (it may be under **More**). On a work
  computer, your IT team may block this.
